2014 Beauty Resolution…Drink Water!

            While this
is the time where many people are working on trying to stick to their New
Year’s resolution, one reason so many of us end up giving up is because we set
too big a goal.  The problem with
setting to big of a goal is that we don’t know where to start sometimes and so
the goal never becomes a reality or a habit.
So I’m here to help you create a beauty resolution.  Many of us, myself included, don’t drink
enough water in the day.  Even a
resolution saying “drink more water” is too broad.  So, I’m here to tell you how about how much water you should be
having daily and some of the reasons why it’s important.

            There’s a
couple ways to determine how much water to drink.  I’ve heard 8 8-oz. glasses a day and also half of what your body
weight is in ounces.  Rather than having
to keep track of the number of glasses or ounces, the easiest way to do this is
to get a refillable water bottle.  Most
seem to be around 24oz.  As you finish
each time, go a refill it.  Then you are
continuously drinking water.

            Now that
I’ve helped you determine how to make sure you’re drinking enough, let’s answer
the question of why.  To start, I’ll
bring up the fact that it can help with the NUMBER 1 New Year’s
resolution ‚¬Â¦WEIGHT LOSS.  Often when you
think that you’re hungry, you are actually thirsty.  So rather than reaching for your favorite snack try reaching for
a glass of water after all water is 0 calories compared to whatever you would
have gone for.  By realizing that it’s
thirst over hunger first, chances are that you are satisfying that craving for
what you thought was a need for food.

            Drinking
plenty of water isn’t just good internally, but it can show great results in
your outer appearance.  It helps to
hydrate your skin because it flushes out the toxins in your body and also
removes the dirt that clogs your pores.
So while you may feel like your have to go to the bathroom more often,
just keep in mind that all that water you consuming is removing any toxins in
your body.

  • TIP:  before you apply makeup try splashing
your face with cold water.  While
it may not be tempting with the cold weather, it will shrink your
    pores.  This will make your
foundation look and stay smoother throughout the day.
  • ALSO,
if you are someone that suffers from a lot of breakouts, try drinking hot
lemon water first thing in the morning.
It reduces the bacteria internally therefore lessening your
breakouts.  As a side perk the hot
lemon water will wake you up so you don’t have to reach for that cup of
    coffee.

So maybe you’re skin is already
pretty clear and the breakouts aren’t something of your concern.  Well, drinking water also helps to keep you
skin tight and toned.  This means fewer
chances for wrinkles.  Our cells will
with water which will cause them to push up against our skin leaving no room
for gaps or anything else that can cause unsightly marks and flabby skin.

I mentioned in the tip about hot
lemon water that it can wake you up.
Well, sometimes while you may feel awake you’re body might say
otherwise.  One way to tell is by looking
at our eyes.  In many social situations
the eyes are the first point of contact and so we want to make sure they are
looking fresh and clear.  Yes, drinking
water is good for that too.  It will
help to make them white, clear, and sparkly.
So yes, that twinkle that you thought only existed in TV shows when a
guy and girl first meet can actually exist.

The final beauty point I’m going
to bring up is your hair.  In the winter
especially our hair can dry out because of those comforting hot showers.  As comfortable as they might be, they are
not the best for your hair and skin unfortunately ladies.  But you can make up for the damage that hot
shower does by making sure you’re not taking too long of a shower and also
drinking your recommended daily dose of water.
That hydration will provide hydration to the cuticle layer of your hair
and make it constricted.  This means
that your hair will lay flatter and look smoother and silkier.

So join me for the beauty
resolution and drink more water.  Make
sure that you stay hydrated for your body, your skin, and you hair.

Beauty For The Season

With the temperatures dropping and even some snowfall for some of
us, it’s more important now than ever to make sure you’re taking care
of yourself. Not just internally and preventing sickness but also
when it comes to the health of our hair and skin.

Today we will be focusing on skincare.

Skincare is important year round and it’s important to change up
that routine with each season. Now for those of you asking, “Why
do I need to change it if it’s been working”? Well, it’s not
changing it completely, but rather adapting it to the seasons. So
for instance in the Fall, we notice the temperatures dropping and the
air getting drier.

I joined forces with beauty expert Rachel Hayes from
totalbeauty.com to bring you some fun Fall/Winter must-haves and how
they will help our skin look and smell great..

  1. Clearasil has a new line.
This new line features a gel cleanser, exfoliating scrub, and
on-the-go cleansing pads. Were you expecting me to list off items
that fit that cleanse, tone, and moisturize rule? While that is
important this new line is designed to make sure your skin gets the
necessary nutrients since you’re most likely going to be spending
more time indoors with the cold weather. Each product contains 1%
salicylic acid (helps to keep skin clear) and they are also blended
with super fruit extracts like cranberry, raspberry, and vitamin D.

    • Oh, and make sure to
choose products that are paraben-free. Parabens have been known to
increase the risk of breast cancer. Also paraben allergies can
cause things like skin irritation, contact dermatitis, and rosacea.
They have been known to increase skin aging when combined with
      skin exposure.

  1. Schick Quattro for Women.
Many of us ladies don’t really think about shaving everyday because
we are in the season of wearing jeans, leggings, boots, and
sweaters. But who wants to let themselves go on to have a hairy
mess as soon as spring comes. Schick Quattro has a new razor out
that will make shaving less of a hassle. It’s high-performance and
has an ergonomically-designed handle for a woman’s wrist. The
conditioning strips contain asai berry (another super fruit…wink
wink) and skin-nourishing Jojoba oils. It will make your skin look
and feel really healthy and radiant.

      • Asai Berry Benefits:
it has anti-inflammatory properties and can help ease pain caused
        by damaged nerve fibres.

      • Jojoba Oils Benefits:
        soothes and moisturizes the skin.

My final beauty
must-have is outside of skincare, but it’s a great way to spice up
that beauty routine for a night on the town, date night, and anything
else fun you might have planned.

  1. Fragrance. We want
to include several senses to give us the confidence to look and feel
good. Every year around this time, we see many conglomerate
companies and celebrities releasing new fragrances. One that is
designed for the strong, confident woman is Katy Perry’s Killer
Queen. It’s playful and daring while bringing out the royalty in
you. The scent has been called addictive and is blended with
jasmine, wild berry, and liquid praline. Perfect for the cold
weather because it’s a warmer scent and a good transition from any
    summery floral scents.

    • To make you feel more like
a queen, the bottle is a queen’s scepter with red and gold jewels.

So whether you are embrace your
inner royalty and involve multiple senses in your beauty routine, try
asking yourself these four questions:

  • Do you like the scent of
    your perfume?

  • Are you happy with how your
    skin looks in the mirror?

  • Does you skin feel smooth
    and flawless?

  • Are you following the
    skincare rules?

Fall Fashion Must-Haves

Fashion is something that can bring
people together. Think about it. Do you have more fun at the mall
when you’re shopping by yourself or with one or two friends and
getting their opinions of different outfits? When we can get the
perspective from someone whether it’s another expert or a loved one
who’s voice means the world to us, we can learn a lot ourselves.

This blog post is a collaborative
effort. For my radio show, I got the chance to sit down and chat
about.  Fall fashion must-haves with fashion expert, Cristina
Ehrlich.

Cristina’s career began as a
dancer, she even studied dance at NYU, but she also grew up with a
mother who was a showroom model and interior designer and a
grandfather who was a clothing designer. So when she turned 27, it’s
no surprise that Cristina hung up her dance shoes to pursue another
passion…fashion. Since then she has had the fortune of working
with some of Hollywood’s finest including Penelope Cruz and Amy Adams
and most recently she has announced a partnership with QVC.

I’m very excited to share the Fall
fashion must-haves that Cristina and I came up with:

  • Jeans are a great place to
    start.
    Every woman, no matter
what her lifestyle is always looking for a great pair of jeans.
There certainly is a big trend going on right now with printed
jeans, whether it’s a brochette ankle jean or a Jacquard slim leg
jean. These are jeans that are going to add some texture and print
to your wardrobe. A lot of the prints are done in darker hues which
are very elongating to the leg and flattering.

  • Colored cords.
Whether it’s in rich jewel tones like teal, mulberry, or cranberry
or in great earth tones like slate grey. Colored cords are a nice
way to break up the regular jean for everyday. They are a great way
to transition the colored pants and bright colors from summer so
that you’re wardrobe doesn’t end up filled with the blacks, browns,
and greys typical for winter. Cords are super comfortable and easy
to pair with a great ankle boot, loafer, or pump. They are
definitely a key piece that can mix and match with already existing
    pieces in our closet.

      • If
you go for an earth tone or a color like oxblood red or poppy
persimmon, it’s really easy to pair on top with something like a
print or texture or even a solid chunky sweater.

      • You
can also try pairing colored cords with a tweed blazer and a
        little camisole underneath.

  • Texture.
Adding texture in addition to color can give the outfit a little
more pop and there’s also a new freshness to the style.

  • Color blocking.
We are seeing a lot of color blocking, and what Cristina and I love
about that is that it breaks up the monotony of always having dark
tones up against the face. As women we sometimes forget that there
are different colors, tones, and shades that are going to flatter
us. When you have color up against your face, it’s very warming and
flattering. Then you can even try mixing it with gold/silver
jewelry or a statement necklace. Color blocking can even show off
your curves while adding a little pop of color.

      • If
you’re a little hesitant to try color blocking for the fear of
looking like an Easter egg, Coldwater Creek has a great color
blocking sweater. The whole front base is done in jewel tones,
then around the waist it has a slice of dark grey and the arms and
back of the sweater are also grey. With this sweater you get the
curve of the waist and also the richness of purple or another
jewel tone. It becomes easy to find a pair for the bottom whether
you choose cords, jeans, or leggings.

  • Prints.
Cristina and I like adding a print on either the top or the bottom
and balancing it with something solid or textural on the other part.
For instance if you choose a printed camisole, you can try pairing
it with something like a black jean and a black blazer for a nice
    polished look.

  • Make accessories the focal
    point.
    Often times this is
the case, but at the same time most women forget that just by taking
a simple printed scarf and tying it around their neck or even to the
arms of their handbag or even through their belt loops, it adds a
pop of color, sophistication, and a little bit of flare.

  • Play with lengths.
Every season boots make a big splash and a great pairing with boots
can be a skirt. We are going to see a nice trend where people will
play with the length of the skirts like boots skirts. Boot skirts
are A-line on the bottom and pair very well with boots.

No
matter which trend you choose to embrace, remember that fashion
should be a seamless flow. What you want to do is choose your focal
point and where you want the solid to be. Don’t feel like you have
to mix and match. If it’s meant to go together, it will flow
together.

Cooper and Ella

Cooper and Ella

My recent “cruise by” of my local Cusp store resulted in a great Squirrel score- the discovery of HOS’ new go to brand for blouses, Cooper and Ella. First, how amaze is the name, Cooper and Ella? It sounds like the perfect names for a girl and a boy ‚¬Â¦non? Well, it happens to be the name of the children of the founder of Cooper and Ella, Kara Mendelsohn. After working in the fashion industry for big brand names such as, Calvin Klein, and Marc by Marc Jacobs, Kara set out to design a line of blouses that you can wear everyday. The blouses are romantic, chic, and can be worn from the office to evening effortlessly. The best part is they are affordable, without loosing quality of fabric or fit!

I tried on every Cooper and Ella blouse that Cusp had, and the fit is divine!  This is my favorite part of what I do, discovering new brands to share with all of you!  HOS’ style gospel of this new line has already spread across my girl friend network of Squirrel Girls ‚¬Â¦soon enough they will be on every woman’s must have shopping list when it comes to the perfect blouse!

The best part is when you are shopping via the site here the shipping is free! The reason? Because they love us! This is a win, win situation, and I find that sentiment a lovely gesture for their customers. To see what stores carry Cooper and Ella click here.

Below are some of my favorite blouses from Cooper and Ella’s Fall Collection. I need to add this top to my already growing collection of their blouses ‚¬Â¦.check the detail on the arm, it is so brill!

Black and white is big for Fall, and Spring 2014. This blouse could be worn for both seasons!

Yes please!

Squirrel likey a lot! As you have read in my previous post “There’s a Jungle Cat in My Closet” , animal print is big for Fall. I am digging the cheetah print hearts. I think I need this blouse too! :)

When I went to Cooper and Ella’s site, I read the ‘About’ page and saw this beautiful picture of Kara and her children, Cooper and Ella. Not only are HOS big fans of the line, we are so inspired by a Mother of two following her dream and realizing it to reality!

Being A Fashionista Doesn’t Have To Be Expensive

You probably read the title and were intrigued, but several
thoughts probably popped in your head.
Were these some of them?:

  • “In
order to keep up with all the latest trends, I need to get to the stores
right after they hit the runway.”
  • “The
    designer brands are better quality”
  • “How
can that be?  All of the good
    clothes are so pricy.”
  • “I
just saw [insert favorite celebrity] wearing it and have to have it”

Well, believe it or not you can wear the same trends as your
favorite celebrity, get the looks from the runway, and go for those designer
brands without spending your whole paycheck in one shopping spree.

Alright, are you looking at the computer screen even more
confused now?

I stand by that statement.
The reason why is because of consignment shopping.  No, I’m not talking about those stores that
take just any old thing you want to get rid of, but there are many stores out
there that will buy your old clothes and in choosing their stock they base what
they buy off of if it’s:

  • Stylish
  • Only a
    couple years old
  • Not
over worn or too well loved
  • Properly
    laundered

Yes, I will admit I work for one of these stores which is
why I’m not using the names of any of these types of stores.  I can also tell you that if you give yourself
time shopping around one of these consignment or resale boutiques you will come
up with some high-end deal.  I’ve bought
brands like BCBG Max Azria, Lilly Pulitzer, and Alice + Olivia for less that
$20 bucks each.

So yes, the designer brands might be better quality than
some of the cheaper store brands we go to as a fall back, but that doesn’t mean
that you have to spend full price on these items either.

As far as the current trends are concerned, that’s another
focus these stores pride in when they are searching through your old
clothes.  They may not take those old
tracksuits that you loved bumming around the house in, but they are searching
for the hottest trends like skinny jeans, rompers, and even ways to color
block.

By consignment stores’ fashion guidelines alone, you can
guarantee that you’re paying at least 70% less than the original price for
high-end, high quality clothing.

Also, some of these stores will carry designer purses.  Now, are you looking questionably at the
computer screen again?  My thoughts are
that you’re asking “how do you know that they are real and not fake”.

Here’s how I know.
There is special training and certain aspects to look for when it comes
to deciphering a real designer purse vs. a fake one (maybe those rules will
show up in a later post).  The pressure
is on the employees of each of these consignment and resale shops even more,
because for a person to sell a fake/knock-off designer purse to a commercial
venue it is around a $7,000 fine for both the store and the person who sold the
fake.

Does that make you feel better when you walk into a
consignment shop and see a discounted Coach or Prada bag?

So, don’t write off the consignment and resale shops because
they are taking in clothes that were technically preowned, because they make
sure it is the best of the best and the most stylish and trendy to sell to you.

HAPPY SHOPPING!

Beauty Is More Than the Number On The Scale

I’ll be honest and say that I have been sitting on this topic for a while wondering when the right time to write this was.  Then a personal experience happened, and became the inspiration and perfect timing for this.  I found myself relying too much on weighing myself after each gym workout, but also becoming discouraged when the number wasn’t reflecting what I wanted to see.

Beauty is so much more than the number on the scale.  It comes in all shapes and sizes.  It is rooted deep inside of us and then reflect outward.  When I think about this, I’m reminded of a picture a friend once showed me of a scale and written on the scale is everything that the number does not tell you.

In that picture it says that number on the scale doesn’t tell you:

  • What a great person you are.
  • How much your friends and family love you.
  • That you are kind, smart, funny, and amazing in ways numbers cannot define.
  • That you have the power to choose happiness.
  • Your own self-worth.

It’s important to remember that if we choose to step on a scale, that result is just a number.  That result doesn’t say how healthy we are and it doesn’t say what kind of person we are.  It just tells us this one number.

Many of us (and this is from the norms of society) feel that we’d be happier if we lost 10 pounds or if we had the trendiest clothes, but think about this.  If you lost that 10 pounds or got those designer clothes would you definitely be happier?  Happiness comes from more than the clothes on our back or the way we look.

In truth, for those of you who are exercise fiends, that number on the scale is misleading.  You are working hard and yes you are losing fat but at the same time you are gaining muscle.  So while your body is changing and slimming down, the number on the scale may not change at all or it may increase by a pound or two.

So, I have a challenge for you.

Don’t let yourself think about that number on the scale.  When you wake up in the morning or you finish your workout, avoid stepping on that scale for one month

Rather than focusing on the number, focus on the changes
you see in your body.

  • Do you clothes fit
    differently?
  • Does your body seem
    more toned?
  • Do you have more
    energy?
  • Are you happy when
    you look in the mirror?

The way you answer those questions can be so much more
rewarding than stepping on a scale.  We
are all uniquely designed; no one is made to be exactly the same.  So don’t get caught up in comparing yourself
to your peers or your favorite celebrity because YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!

Millennials Trendsetters?

Are Millennials Trendsetters?

When I was asked to write about the Millennial generation fashion sense, I first had to figure out what defines a Millennial ‚¬Â¦and if I were one? As I was doing my research I took this online survey that determines if you are a true Millennial or not. The big reveal is at the end of the post.

Millennials are typically born between 1977-2000, and make up for 25 % of the US population. 105 million Millennials are spending money on consumer products and, as a result, are setting the trends for one of our biggest industries, fashion.  Last year, Millennials spent $200 billion, and with their influence over their parents (mostly Boomers) Millennials’ spending reached up to $500 billion a year. (Source: Millennial Marketing)

Rihanna is one of the most powerful Millennials of her generation. At the age of 25 and over 30 million twitter followers, Rihanna has a huge influence on fashion and what Millennials will be wearing. Boyfriend jeans are all the rave and haven’t stopped since they came out on the fashion scene a few years back. Rihanna, shown below in London, is rocking a pair of boyfriend jeans with a Stella McCartney top and heels. What would our Boomer parents think of our ripped jeans with a designer top and heels? I can speak to this personally ‚¬Â¦they think we don’t have enough money to fix our pants. My Dad has no idea why we want to wear ripped jeans. If Rihanna does it that makes it okay, right?

Boyfriend jeans worn a couple different ways by the most influential generation to date.

Another influential Millennial is our girl next door Country Pop Singer, Taylor Swift.  Taylor is 24 years old and has over 29 million twitter followers. Her style is more preppy/chic with a slight 50 ‚¬Â²s girl influence. Back when our parents were growing up, stripes were considered part of a uniform, now it is a huge fashion trend. Taylor has a powerful platform to influence her fans, and when she wears stripes this equates to girls running to their local Gap or J Crew!

Millennial Girls showing us how to wear stripes!

Then there is Kristen Stewart. Kristen has single handedly brought back the casual look with a touch of grunge and made it look cool. Kristen also has made wearing sneakers with everything a fashion trend. Converse has seen a huge revival and people are wearing them with everything ‚¬Â¦no matter the occasion! Another fashion statement my Dad would bark at ‚¬Â¦Ha!

Millennial Models making the “casual” look, look sexy!

Tennis shoes with a platform? And with a skirt? So good ‚¬Â¦but Dad would be eye rolling.

Or the combination of all three: Striped blazer, Boyfriend jeans, and Converse. Wait, this sounds like a Squirrel Girl not a Millennial! :)

Now my Millennial test reveal: I failed at being a Millennial by three points ‚¬Â¦.so I will sit happily in my Generation X category.  Besides, I am in the company with one of our style Queens ‚¬Â¦Ms. Paltrow! GP never disappoints us with her red carpet looks or street style ease. Gwyneth is a style icon of all generations and has a twitter account of over 1.5 million followers ‚¬Â¦not bad for Gen X’er!

Organic Skincare

This time of year, we often feel more pressure to take care
of our skin.  If you think about it, it
does make sense.  Our skin is exposed
more this time of year than any other.
From dresses, skirts, shorts, tank tops, and even bathing suits.  As important as it is to adjust your skincare
routine from season to season, not all of us can afford a drastic
makeover.  I’m here to tell you that
there are items in your house or items that you most likely already buy that can
be used to help take care of your skin this summer.

Strawberries

I mentioned in a previous post
that strawberries were great to include in your diet.  They are full of antioxidants and can serve
as a natural sun block.  If you’re one of
those people who maybe like to buy in bulk or let some food go to the point
where you are a little hesitant to eat them ‚¬Â¦than have no fear you can still use
the strawberries.  That is assuming they
are not to the point where mold is growing on them.  All you need to do is take some of the
strawberries and mash them into a paste.
This will create an organic face wash using strawberries alone.  The seeds from the strawberries will serve as
the exfoliant and help to clean out any clogged pores.

Honey

Honey is
another item that contains many antioxidants to help you get that “glow”.  When you are looking for honey to use for you
skin, go for organic or raw honey.  Stay
away from imitation honeys for both dietary and skincare reasons.  Imitation honey is pack with tons of sugar
that can cause you to break out more than help you.  Organic or Raw honey is as close to its form
when it was in the hive.  This can serve
as a great facial mask.  I usually leave
the honey mask on my face for about 10 minutes (depending on how humid it is,
be prepared for some of the honey to drip off your face).  The glow from a honey mask comes not only
from the antioxidants but the stickiness of the honey helps to remove any dead
skin cells that your normal routine may have missed.

Oatmeal

Have you
ever wondered why when we have the chicken pox, our parents suggest an oatmeal
bath to help soothe the itching?  This is
because oatmeal is effective in relieving dryness and inflammation for things
like insect stings, rashes, and eczema.  That’s
why the FDA has approved when companies add oatmeal to moisturizers and soaps.

Here’s a
recipe that to make your own oatmeal moisturizer, and you will know every
ingredient in the moisturizer.  The ingredients
needs are:

  • 1/2 cup finely ground oatmeal
  • 2 cups distilled water
  • Saucepan with lid
  • Fine strainer
  • Glass or stainless steel mixing bowl
  • Small saucepan
  • Metal spoon
  • 3/4 cup olive, almond or jojoba oil
  • 2 tbsp. shea butter
  • 2 tbsp. grated beeswax
  • 1 tsp. grapefruit seed extract

Bring the water to a boil and add in the oatmeal. Let that simmer for 20
minutes, then strain into a mixing bowl.
(Set aside for the moment)

Next, heat
the oil, shea butter, and beeswax over low heat in a small sauce pan.  You want to keep stirring until the beeswax
is melted and the ingredients are completely combined.  Then remove from heat.

Pour the oil mixture that you just made into the
oatmeal/distilled water concoction.  You want
to make sure you stir until the two mixtures are combined.

Finally, add the grapefruit seed extract and use the blender
to blend the mixture until it is thick and creamy.

Sunscreen

My final
tip for taking care of your skin is REMEMBER TO APPLY SUNSCREEN.  It is important when it comes to aging,
wrinkles, sunburn, etc. to make sure that you always apply sunscreen.  Not just when you are at the beach or by the
pool but even on the cloudiest of days.
To make things easier, companies are now making a CC Cream with that
added SPF so that you don’t have to worry about adding yet another element to
your skincare routine.

How To Get Those Flawless Hollywood Curls

How many times have you seen a picture of a celebrity in
a magazine, online, or on the red carpet and they have these gorgeous wavy
curls?  Then you decide to try for that
look and somehow it just doesn’t turn out the same way.

Well, I have a little trick to getting those perfect
Hollywood curls.  All it takes is a ½ inch
flat iron with rounded edges and a little hairspray (I prefer Suave
Professionals Touchable Curls).

It’s a couple easy steps that just take time to
learn.  The first time you try this might
take a while to do the whole head, but the more you practice then the shorter
the time it will take to do your hair.

To start, I like to separate my hair into layers.  This works really well, especially if you
have a lot of hair.  It also doesn’t make
it that intimidating and you can see each piece that needs to be curled.  With the first layer, I spray it with
hairspray and then brush/comb the hairspray through.

Next, you want to take a small piece of hair.  The amount of hair depends on the kind of
hair you have, but if you grab a piece to big then the curl won’t come out
quite as nicely.  The size of the piece
might be something you want to experiment with, but remember keep it small.

With that piece, place the flat iron about ¾ of the way
up the piece.  Make sure you don’t place
it right at the top because this will make the next couple steps a little
easier.

Then, take that same piece of hair and fold it over the
flat iron.  So you should have the flat
iron on the hair and the hair should be wrapped on the top of the flat iron as
if you’re throwing a scarf over you shoulder.

From this point, roll the flat iron up the piece of hair
360 degrees or one full turn.  You should
by this point have hair sticking out of the clamped portion and facing down.

To finish, pull the flat iron down the hair.  You can go slowly or a little quick.  Depending on the quality of your hair and what
kinds of treatments you have had done, there may be a little resistance.  If there is a little resistance, you can use
your hand to help tap it down the hair.

Once you reach the bottom of the piece of hair, curl the
end under to complete the last curl and release the flat iron.  You now have a perfect  curl.

Keep doing this for each piece in that layer, spray it
with hairspray, and then move onto the next layer and repeat the process.  Once you have your whole head complete, this
next step might sound a little counterproductive but it works.  You are going to brush your hair ‚¬Â¦yes, after
all that work you will brush your hair.
The curls will not come out, I promise.

After you brush your hair your last step is to take your fingers and
twist some of the curls back into place.
Within 5 minutes your curls will be intact and you will have gorgeous
Hollywood curls.
